Investing in kids’ futures

TABLE has been providing valuable nutrition education to local children since 2010. Understanding nutrition can help shape the way children view their eating habits and can impact their overall health and wellness. By encouraging children to try new foods and providing them with the opportunities to test out new recipes or learn basic cooking techniques, we seek to equip children with the tools necessary to make educated choices when it comes to food and nutrition so they can live healthy lives.

Chefs@Home

Chefs@Home is a cooking club for all ages! Each month, every family in our food access program receives a nutrition education kit with a recipe, ingredients, and a fun kid-centered activity.ย

An example of a meal kit we gave out to families was a recipe for pumpkin pancakes along with all the ingredients, including a small pumpkin, and a fun kidsโ€™ activity for them to track the โ€œcolorโ€ of the foods they ate for a month by putting color-coded stickers on a hand out with a rainbow on it!

Nutrition Resources

Nutrition education does not stop with a lesson or activity. We know families benefit from having trusted tools they can return to at home, at their own pace.

Our Nutrition Resources page offers family-friendly materials that support what children learn through TABLEโ€™s programs, including simple recipes, seasonal produce information, cooking videos, and recorded webinars. These resources are designed to reinforce healthy habits and make nutrition education more accessible beyond our programs.
