Volunteers contribute an average of 990 hours a month to TABLE!  Your time and commitment make it possible for us to provide healthy food and nutrition lessons to hundreds of local children every week. With a small staff and limited funding, volunteers multiply our people power and allow us to deliver food to children in our community.

To volunteer, review our opportunies and fill out the form below.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer activities are open to individuals or groups and we have opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Shifts are available Monday through Thursday (both evenings and daytimes) and occasional weekends.

On-Site Volunteering

We have on-site volunteer shifts that help sort food, package bags, assist in teaching nutrition education at after school centers, chaperone field trips, and more.

Weekly Farmwork

Wildflower Lane in Efland, NC generously supports and partners with TABLE to ensure that our kids receive local, organic produce regularly in the summer and fall months. We are looking for volunteers to support the farm by committing to a weekly shift for at least one semester.

Skills-Based Volunteering

There are numerous special events at which we need volunteers to help staff information tables, serve on event committees, provide assistance at fundraising events, and serve as course monitors at races.

Group Volunteering

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for any size group. Whether you want to volunteer with your co-workers, faith-based organization, friends or family, there are lots of opportunities!

Internships & Leadership Positions

Interns help keep TABLE running smoothly. By interning at TABLE, you can gain excellent experience for a future in the non-profit sector or for other jobs that may require the skills you can learn at TABLE. Internships are unpaid, typically 10-12 hours per week for one semester, and can encompass a wide variety of tasks.

We also depend on Team Leaders to run our volunteer shifts effectively. These positions require weekly commitments for 1 semester and develop leadership skills, communication, volunteerism, organization, and more!
