TABLE to Celebrate New Home With Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
CARRBORO, N.C., March 27, 2025 – TABLE, a Carrboro-based nonprofit that delivers healthy food to 1,100 children in Orange County, is excited to announce it will celebrate the completion of its newly renovated space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception. This event is being held in partnership with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce.
The ceremony will take place Thursday, April 10th at 311 E. Main St. from 4:00 – 5:30 pm with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 4:30 p.m.. Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee and Chamber President and CEO Aaron Nelson will make some brief remarks in addition to TABLE Executive Director Ashton Tippins. This expansion marks an exciting milestone for TABLE allowing the organization to increase its reach and impact on local children facing food insecurity. Since relocating, TABLE has increased the number of children it serves from 850 to 1,100 children. This expansion means more children have access to the nutritious food they need to grow emotionally, mentally, and physically.
“We are so grateful for our community’s support in making this new space a reality,” said Executive Director Ashton Tippins.
“At TABLE, we believe every child, regardless of background, should have access to fresh, healthy food. This is more important than ever as federal funding cuts threaten our community partners. With this new location, we can reach even more children, welcome more volunteers, and continue building a caring, inclusive community where everyone has a seat at the table.”
TABLE’s new space has been renovated to provide a welcoming environment for families, volunteers and community partners. Key upgrades include a revamped loading dock, a walk-in cooler and a fully functional kitchen and offers the opportunity for TABLE to expand and serve even more children in the future.
Community members, supporters, and local leaders are invited to celebrate this milestone and learn more about TABLE’s ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity in Orange County.
