Nutrition Education Tailored to Kids

TABLE’s Chefs@Home program was created to give families a way to taste new foods, learn about the nutritional value of certain foods, and try out some cooking skills. Ultimately, we want families to have positive experiences together in the kitchen that expose kids to new foods while getting them comfortable with cooking and trying a variety of foods that will help them grow!

This monthโ€™s Chefs@Home kit features a Summer Rainbow Pasta Salad recipe! This colorful dish is perfect for hot summer days and is packed with fresh vegetables like yellow squash, zucchini, and bell peppers tossed with tricolor pasta and Italian dressing. Families can customize it with their favorite vegetables or add protein like chicken or chickpeas for a balanced meal.

You may notice the Chefs@Home bags look a little different! This is thanks to a new partnership with Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, who will sponsor Chefs@Home for the next year. Each kit now includes a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activity for kids to enjoy!

Itโ€™s been fun to hear how parents are reacting to the program (Chefs@Home). One mom even compared it to the โ€œChoppedโ€ TV show!

โ€œI like the diversity of the food recipes you send. My kids were very excited about the Salvadorian recipe & said mom, let’s make this!โ€
