Broccoli

Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable which means it’s in the cabbage family. Cruciferous vegetables get their name from the four petals on their flowers that make the shape of a cross. Like many spring cruciferous vegetables, broccoli is loaded with plant compounds that are believed to prevent cancer. If you only eat one vegetable, broccoli is a great choice. Broccoli is rich in fiber and promotes gut health, eye health and so much more. You can eat broccoli raw, steamed, or roasted.

Here’s a recipe for kid-pleasing roasted broccoli. Did you know you can also use frozen broccoli to roast? Or try this delicious Beef and Broccoli bowl.
