Marie joined TABLE in December 2012 as a part-time executive assistant. Since then her position has expanded to overseeing all donations TABLE receives. She processes all gifts, writes thank you letters to TABLE donors, and runs monetary reports. Marie also assists with fundraising events and supports other staff with projects.
Marie’s favorite TABLE story is from a winter several years ago. She was helping to fill bags with food to be delivered to kids at school before it snowed and the schools closed. Carrboro’s then police chief and captain stopped by to check in and immediately began helping when they saw what had to be done.
According to Marie, “I was amazed & felt so grateful. They knew how much getting the food meant to our kids. One of them even offered to do one of the deliveries. It was one of those “get the community involved” moments that has stuck with me all these years!”
Marie and her husband Steve live in Chapel Hill. Steve is also active with TABLE as a weekly volunteer and by supporting TABLE Empty Bowls fundraiser donating pottery and assisting at the event. In Marie’s free time she likes to garden and spend time with her grandson, Dylan.
