Laura graduated from UNC in May 2012 with a major in Sociology and minors in Hispanic Studies and English. As an undergraduate, Laura interned with Dress for Success Triangle, which provided her with experience leading volunteers. She gained further experience when she went on an alternative spring break trip to Camden, NJ, which also sparked her interest in food justice. Laura became a dedicated volunteer at TABLE in 2011 and her passion for TABLE’s work continued to grow throughout her college career. After graduating from UNC she worked in a hospital volunteer management office. Laura began serving as Program Director in April 2013, leading TABLE’s hunger-relief programs and starting the TABLE On the Go and Camp TABLE programs.

Laura and her husband Mark were married in 2014; have two sons at home – Judah (born 2019) and Eli (born 2021) – plus a very large dog, Leo; and live in Durham. Laura enjoys binge watching TV, reading historical fiction, and eating good food. She is a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham.
