Kelli has spent over 30 years as an elementary public school educator, primarily in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. She was a classroom teacher for 23 years and has been an instructional coach for teachers for over seven years. She is currently an instructional coach at Morris Grove Elementary School. In 2012, Kelli left Chapel Hill briefly to serve as an instructional coach for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, working in high-poverty schools around the state. Seeing the massive food insecurity of children in those schools, and knowing that many children in our own community experience that same insecurity, she is committed to TABLE’s mission and goals.
She is a graduate of Meredith College and holds a Master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill along with National Board Certification. She and her husband, Scott, have lived in Chapel Hill since 1987. They have two adult children who attended Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools and are successfully launched into adulthood (and off the payroll)! They are also very proud and doting grandparents to a new granddaughter.
